Dr. Anshu Buttan was born and raised in California and completed his undergraduate degree from UCLA. He obtained his medical degree from UC Irvine and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism with distinction at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Buttan has extensive experience in endocrine and metabolic diseases including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, abnormal thyroid function and thyroid cancer, obesity and weight loss, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary disorders. He has also published original research on topics such as diabetes, exercise, osteoporosis, and pituitary tumors and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Buttan is keenly interested in the best outcomes for his patients. In the past, he has spearheaded hospital wide efforts to improve diabetes care and improving communication between providers and patients. He is an active member of the Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Buttan enjoys exploring his local community, basketball, tennis, and hiking.
