Dr. Matthew Mejia is board certified in Family Medicine with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University and earned a Master of Public Health at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He completed his Medical Degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He went on to complete his residency in Family Medicine at Harbor-UCLA, where he treated pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. After completing his residency, he did a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute.

Dr. Mejia is committed to keeping his patients healthy, emphasizing a preventive approach as much as possible. He promotes healthy lifestyles with his patients through exercise and nutrition prescription as a form of medicine. He has additional fellowship training in treating various musculoskeletal problems, including acute and overuse injuries, as well as injection therapies.

He enjoys running, swimming, cycling, as well as reading and spending time with his fiancé and his golden doodle Dunkin. He was a former Division I athlete and has completed numerous marathons and Ironman triathlons. He has advanced proficiency in Spanish and enjoys treating patients from all walks of life.
