Dr. Yuan Liu is a board-certified specialist in Otology, Neurotology (lateral skull base surgery), and Otolaryngology (ENT). He earned his medical degree from The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA after graduating cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Biochemical Sciences. Dr. Liu completed his Otolaryngology residency at Loma Linda University Health, where he was named Chief Resident of the Year.
Dr. Liu has received multiple research and achievement awards. He pursued a fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, publishing numerous articles and a book chapter on skull base surgical techniques. After his fellowship, he returned to Loma Linda
University as an Assistant Professor, quickly becoming an Associate Professor due to his exceptional patient care and scholarly achievements, with over 50 publications in otolaryngology journals.
Dr. Liu joined the Torrance Memorial Otolaryngology team to be closer to his family in Torrance, where he grew up. He specializes in treating ear-related issues, including restoring hearing with cochlear implants, performing stapes surgery for otosclerosis, repairing eardrums, and removing cholesteatomas. He also focuses on repairing congenital ear deformities, including non-invasive ear
molding in newborns.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with his two toddlers and wife. He also loves tennis, basketball, pickleball, hiking, and running.
