Dr. Ziba Jalali received her medical degree from the University of Cologne College of Medicine, Germany. Her PhD thesis was focused on influence of NF-Kappa B antisense DNA on proliferation and receptor expression of HHV-6 infected cells. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York University (NYU) Medical Center and her Infectious Diseases fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Jalali was a faculty member at ID Division at UNMC (University of Nebraska Medical Center). She is affiliated and is a staff member at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Memorial Care Long Beach Medical Center. Dr. Jalali has many years experience in clinical and translational research in the field of virology and has participated in multiple clinical trials involving Infectious Diseases, HIV, and HIV/HCV with multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She also enjoys teaching and working with students, residents and fellows.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her twin daughters. She also enjoys cooking, dancing, reading, yoga, and traveling. Dr. Jalali speaks Farsi and German.
